Terms

Terms of entry

A plain-language summary of the terms you agree to when you enter. It is written to be read quickly and is not legal advice. The full official terms are the binding version and govern in the event of any conflict.

Authority and accuracy

When you enter, you confirm that you own the product or are authorised to submit it, and that every statement and claim in your entry is accurate. Your claims should be supportable with evidence if a reviewer asks. Entries that are deceptive, or products that are illegal or sanctioned, may be rejected or removed at any point.

What payment buys

Paying the entry fee confirms that your product will be reviewed. It buys an independent evaluation — nothing more. It does not buy, imply or guarantee any recognition, finalist place or award, and it does not entitle you to faster or preferential judging. Meeting a threshold does not entitle a product to a win.

Edits and withdrawal

You may correct or update your entry until the cycle’s deadline. If you spot an error, tell us and we will work with you to fix the record where possible. You may also withdraw an entry. Entry fees are normally non-refundable once you submit; documented exceptions such as duplicate payments, processing errors and refunds required by law are handled by JIMSO administrators.

The right to name no winner

Recognition is earned against a genuine standard. JIMSO may decline to name a winner in any category if no entry meets the quality threshold, and may name fewer finalists than the maximum. Judging outcomes and the decision to name a winner, or none, rest with the program.

Misrepresentation and revocation

Material misrepresentation or fraud can lead to rejection or removal of an entry. If fraud or material misrepresentation comes to light — including after an award has been given — JIMSO may revoke or annotate the recognition to keep the record honest.

Permission to publish results

Public recognition is not confidential. If your product is named a finalist or a winner, you grant JIMSO permission to publish that result — your product, category, cycle and outcome — as part of its coverage and its permanent, verifiable award record. Submissions themselves are reviewed in confidence and used only to assess entries.

The official terms govern

This page is a convenience summary. Where anything here differs from the full official terms, the official terms apply and govern all entries and decisions. See also the rules and eligibility summary and the privacy statement.
